Central Oregon Commercial Real Estate...

....is picking up! Benchmark and several other brokerages in the region have opened escrows in the past few weeks on sizable transactions. Indications are that buyers and sellers have reached equilibrium on pricing. The result is investors and operators purchasing real estate knowing that Central Oregon is a great place to own property and operate companies.

Uptick in Central Oregon Commercial Real Estate

The first two quarters of 2011 are shaping up nicely in Central Oregon commercial real estate. Leases are being written (did you see that Sears came to downtown Redmond!), properties are being sold (Big Country RV purchased five acres on south Hwy. 97) and drops in prices of properties for sale are being well regarded now by buyers. There are offers in on several properties right now that will be disclosed once they close, but the good news is there are more and more folks looking to Redmond and Central Oregon as a smart place to build a business or invest in real estate.

Oregon Transaction of the Year Award Goes to Ken Streater

Benchmark Real Estate is proud to announce that the 2010 Oregon CCIM Commercial Transaction of the Year was recently awarded to Ken Streater. Ken owns Benchmark Real Estate and is a partner in ARIS Group, which facilitates transactions on a national level. Ken was the seller's broker for the former Seaswirl Boat manufacturing plant in Central Oregon. This property consisted of over 28 acres and 175,000 sf of building space. At one point in order to keep the deal alive which meant keeping dozens of jobs in Jefferson County, Ken reached out to Warren Buffet's chief legal counsel in order to get help resolving an issue with Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad.
